Rehabilitation Management Overview
Physical, occupational, and speech therapy
People living with Duchenne need access to different types of rehabilitation management throughout their lives. The rehabilitation team can include doctors, physiotherapists (PTs), occupational therapists (OTs), speech and language therapists (SALTs), dieticians, orthopedists and orthotists .
The rehabilitation team should consider your goals and lifestyle in order to provide you with consistent preventative care, minimise the impact of Duchenne on your life and activities, and optimise quality of life. Rehabilitation can be provided in outpatient clinic and school settings, and should continue throughout your life. You should be assessed by a rehabilitation specialist at least every 4 to 6 months.
